DRAUGHTS.
The return match between teams chosen from Timaru and Temuka draughts players took place on Thursday evening at the Mechanics' Institute, Temuka. The match excited considerable interest, and was witnessed by quite an unusual numbor of spectators. Mr D. Leach acted as referee, but had no occasion to make any special rulings upon the game. The match resulted in a win for Temuka by 2 games. After play was finished the visitors were entertained at the Wallingford Hotel, where a recherche repast had been prepared by Mrs Perceval. The gathering was a very harmonious one, and broke up about half-past eleven. The Temuka players will probably visit Timaru in the course of a month. The following are the detailed scores
