SOUTH ORARI SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the South Orari School Committee was held in the schoolroom on Monday, 36th* June. All the members were present,*^ The inspector’s inspection report was read and considered satisfactory. 1 he teacher reported that the average attendance for the month is so far 65, and sent in a list of those who had not attended half time during the quarter.—The chairman was instructed to serve notices on all irregular attend* ants. A discussion took place about Sunday services in the school.—Moved by Mr O’Neil, seconded by Mr Bennett and carried—“ That all religious bodies be charged Is for each service held in the school, the use of the,organ to be free ; and that the committee reserve the right of letting the organ to any other parties wishing to rent the school.” Resolved—“ That all rent received for the school after this date go towards the prize and treat funds.” A discussion arose about Mr Garrard keeping a key to open the school for Sunday school and Church services.— The chairman was instructed to write to Mr Garrard, telling him to go to the master for the key in future, and to return it when he has. done with it.
