Aiabm ahd Rush”-Shortly after 10 o clock on Sunday night the now firabell at Geraldine rang out its first alarm of Ore to the great delight of the newly-formed "fi re brigade, who were soon seen tearing up the street in nil the glory of their new uniforms inwardly rejoicing in the hope that the long’ sighed-for opportunity of showing their ability and courage in “fighting the flames” had at ! last arrjfed. The street was soon filled with people anxious t.o find the whereabouts of the conflagration. The fire epgine was run out and taken to the sump nearest to where the flames were seen before it was diseaparod that i they proceeded from a large gorae bush on the j riper-bed at the rear of Mr W. G. j stables which somebody had set fire tc doubtless to test the smartness of the brigade. The turn out was, when jshe length of the town ' is taken into consideration, fairly smart, the i engine being on the road within throe minutes of the first alarm.
