S.o. RUGBY UNION. The adjourned annual meeting of t:e South Canterbury Rugby Union was he'd at the Ship Hotel, Timaru, on Thursday evening. Present Messrs Yelvin (chairman). Matheson, Mclntosh, Smith (Fairlie Creek), Kalaughor (VVuihi), and A. C. P. rry (bon. sec.). The balance-sheet and report for the pact year was read, ani considered satisfactory, there being a small credit b-lance after a'l liabilities had been paid The flection of officers for the ensuing term was then proceeded wiih, and resulted as follows ; President, E. Messrs Matheson, Hart, and J. W. Yelvin. A managing committee was appointed, consis'ing of M.rsrs Matheson, Mclntosh, Kalaughar and the hon.. secretary. The following were arranged for the season June 7th, Temuka v, Waihi, at Winchester ; June Utb, Waihi v. Timaru, at iimaru ; June 21st. Timaru y. Temuka, at Temuka, It decided to try and mcuce the Canterbury Rugby Union to send their represertative team to Timaru oa Thursday, July 24th, to phy the annual match. The question of the appointment of referee for the several c’ubs was discussed, and after due consideration it was decided that the union should make arrangem-nts for their appointment for d fterent raatche o . The secretaries of the several c'ubs were requested to endeavor to arrange dates for matches with the Fairlie Creek Cmb. General matters were then dealt with, and the meeting teirninated wilb the customary vote of thanks, A special vote of thanks was accorded to Mr J. 1,. Flint for the interest he had always displayed in the working ef the union since the cotumaacenaent, TEMUKA Y. CAMBRIDGE.
The following is the team selected to represent Cambridge in their match against Temuka, which will take place in Hie Temuka Park on Monday Greig, Girng.n, Neilaon, Wright, Owena McKsodry. Dardis, McOallum. Lear! Hamilton, Morrison, Osborne, Johnston (2) ; emergencies—Bradford and another. The Temuka team appeared in our last issue. Play will commence at 1.20 sharp. WAIHX V, EAST CHRISTCHURCH. The match between East Christchurch and the Waihi Clubs has fallen through, owing to several of the East Christchurch men being unable to come. The Waih* team is greally disappointed, as thev had made all arrangements for the visiting team, and expected a good game.
