PLEASANT VALLEY SCHOOL.
The annual distribution of prizes at the above school took place on Monday last, 28th inst., a lady spectator kindly taking upon her the office at the solicitations of the teachers. The prizes were numerous and varied, consisting of books, articles of use and ornament in varied forms, and of toys for the younger children. The followis the prize list general work : Standard Vl.—Amelia Tatam and Kate Lysaght (equal), 1. Standard IV.— Maggie Kennedy, Clara Beckley, and Frank Guilford (equal), 1 ; Fred. Bonnet, and Mary Brophy (equal), 2. Standard lll.—Maggie Carrig, 1; Mary Bennett, Theresa Q-regan, Louisa Trumper, and Austin Finn (equal), 2. , Standard ll,—Willie Kennedy, 1 ; Patrick Brophy, and John Gregan (equal). 2 ; Susan Carrig, Edith Homes, "Winnie Webb, and Sam. Trumper (equal), 3. Standard I.—Harriet Beckley, 1, Dan. Grregan, 2. SEWING- PBIZES. Standard Vl.—Amelia Tatam, 1; Kate Lysaght, 2 ; special prize, Annie Finn. Standard V. —Agnes Gregan, 1 Louisa Gregan, 2. Standard IV.—Maggie Kennedy, 1; Mary Brophy, 2 ; Ernie Gale, 3. Standard lll.—Emma Best, 1; Louisa Trumper, 2; Mary Bennett, 3. (Standard ll,—Susan Carrig, 1; Louisa Webb, 2 ; Kate Quaid, 3. Standard I.—Mary Guildford, 1 Harriet Beckley, 2, The committee desire to acknowledge with many thanks the services rendered by Mesdames Aitken and Dunlop, who, as on last year, kindly undertook to judge the sewing, and further to thank Mrs Dunlop for a number of special prizes. After singing one or two pieces and passing votes of thanks to the committee, the donors of prizes, and the distributor, the children were dismissed.
