MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Board was held in the Road Board office on Friday last. Present The Hon. 4 J. B. A. Acland (chairman), Messrs C. Gk Tripp and GL J, Dennistoun. A letter of apology was received from Mr R. Mackay that through Alness he could sot attend the meeting. COBEESPONDENCE. A lettter was received from the Crown Lands Office, Christchurch, forwarding plans of sections upon which moneys have accrued under the provisions of 'The Land Act, 1885/ and 'Land Act Amendment Act, 1887,' and requesting to be informed of the work intended to be carried out by the Board leading to the sections.—The clerk was directed to reply, stating that as no application! have been received for work to be done the board do not purpose doing any work on such roads at present. A letter waß read from Messrs Perry and Perry intimating that sections 28,286, 28,442, and 28,443, have been sold by Mr Jefcoate to Mr Griffiths, and requesting to be informed whether any arrears of rates are due on such sections. INTEEYIEW. > Mr E, Evans had an interview with the Board in reference to a stream of water having been diverted from his section in the Arundel Village Settlement.—The clerk was instructed to write to Mr March on the subject. ANNUAL MEETING. Resolved—"') hat the annual meeting of ratepayers be held on Monday, the sth May, at noon, and that a special meeting of this board be held the same day at 11 a.m." ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £46 18s Id were passed for payment. The meeting then terminated.
