GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE
The monthly meeting of the committee was held on Thursday evening last. Present—Messrs W. S. Maslin (chairman), 0. E. Sherratt, H. R. Howard, and W. Walton. easteb holidays. The chairman explained that the committee of the Geraldine Literary Institute had partly arranged to hold their gift auction and fair in the Volunteer Hall on Thursday, the 17th mst,, but owing to the school being broken up a week earlier than expected the children would be reassembling before the 17th inat ~ and would consequently upset the arrangeof the committee. The school committee had received a request that the children might be given an additional week’s holiday so as to meet the case. After discussing the matter it was decided that, the children should reassemble on Monday, the 14th, as previously arranged, and that the school close on Thursday, the 17th inst., at noon, so as to accommodate the institute committee. yisitobs. Messrs bhiers and Sherratt were appointed visitors to • the school for the month, and the meeting terminated.
