LAND SETTLEMENT.

At a special meeting of the Laud Board, Christchureb, on Thursday, the applications for land opened on March 13th were considered, The number of applications put in was 164, of which 54 were granted, 16 were withdrawn through being informal, and a number were deferred for further consideration on account of several points having been raised. The total quantity of land opened for selection was 23,208 acres, and of this amount 13,375 acres were sold.
