THE LABOR TROUBLES.
London, March 8. The colliery proprietors bave offered the colliers to refer the matters in dispute to arbitration. Tho Liverpool dock labourers have gone out on strike in support of the grain trimmers' demands.
March 11. The colliers still reject the proposal to arbitrate.
In consequence of the strikes trade in Liverpool is at a standstill. Auckland, March 11.
Ten carters in the employ of Winston Bros., ono of the largest carting firms in the city, went on strike yesterday. They ask for £2 per week instead of £1 16s, which they are now getting. Fifteen carters in the employ of J. Craig went on strike to-day. *Greymouth, March 10. The difficulty with the Brunnerton coalminers was settled this evening, and the miners resume work to-morrow. The miners demanded 2s lOd per ton to fall coal. The company will pay 2s 10d in the Coalpit Heath and Wallsend mines, And 14 per day to miners in the Brunner mine.
