ACCIDENTS, FATALITIES, ETC.
London, March 10. Over 100 miners are reported to be entombed by a colliery explosion in Wales. The colliery is chocked with debris, which prevents help being given to the imprisoned men. It is feared that the death roll will reach 150.
Bydney, March 1 L. Very heavy rains have fallen in New South Wales and in Queensland, and large floods are reported in several districts. A railway accident occurred near Mount Victoria, through the line being washed away. The engine and twelve empty trucks were wrecked. The driver, named Heron, was killed, and the stoker seriously injured. Auckland, March 10. A young man named Julius Petersen, seaman on the brigantlne Camille, has been drowned at Helensville. He was pulling in a boat, when the oar broke, and he was thrown into the water and lost. March 11. A farmer named W.Lang was killed at Waipuno by falling over a precipice. He had been a settler in that district for several years. Napiee, March 11. A very old resident named John Garry, formerly owner of the Vulcan Foundry, dropped down dead this morning at his work. The cause was heart disease,
