A parade of the members of this corps took place last evening, 80 rank and file being present. Captain Hayburst, Lieutenant Findlay, ' and Staff Sergeant-Major Jones were in attendance After the parade the
Annual Meeting was held, Captain Hayhurst taking the chair.
Captain Hayhurst made a few remarks, in the course of which he said he regretted to see such a small attendance, and he hoped during the present year they would get more recruits.. He heard some men at Winchester were willing to join the corps, and if a contingent could be formed there he, would. -be willing to give it every encouragement in his power.
Mr GK Mason, the secretary, ■ reported, on behalf of the commiftee, that there had been no works done that called for special mention. The largest outlay in one item was £2O, for relaying the skating rink floor, which was necessary owing to the shrinkage, the timber used when the floor was first laid being wet. However, the floor was now in good order, and the committee had every reason to believe it would last for some time. The committee, as directed at a meeting of the company, called for tenders from the New Zealand Clothing Factory and Kaiapoi Woollen Company for 50 new uniforms, according to the new dress regulations, and accepted the tender of the first-named company at 32s 6d each, the total cost 1 being £Bl ss. [ The balance-sheet showed the in- [ come during the year to have been £2lO 10s 4d, including £36 9s 7d brought forward last year. The principal receipts were: Rent of the range ground £47 10s, rent of skating rink £4O, rent of hall and drillshed £27 17s 6d, capitation £35 15s 6d, ball and prize receipts £l3 18s. The total expenditure was £l5B 3s Id, leaving a credit balance of £52 7s 3d. The principal items were : Challenge Cup £ll, kerosene £lßl3a 6d, salaries £32 6s 2d, prizes £l6, floor of drillshed £2O, refreshments at ball, advertising, and insurance £l9 9s 9d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted, COMMITTEES, ETC. The following were elected a committee : —Ooaporal Whitehead, Privates Sim, Lavery, and Wright. Lieutenant Findlay was re-elected treasurer, and Corporal Mason was reelected secretary. Lieutenant Findlay moved, and Private Phillips seconded, that the following be elected a match committee : Corporal Whitehead, Privates Watt, Sim, and the mover. SOCIALS. It was decided that the working committee be empowered to get up socials and entertainments during the year, and see to the carrving out of the same. TOTES OE THANKS. A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring committee and treasurer, A vote of thanks was passed to the chairman for presiding, and the new uniforms were then distributed to those present. The proceedings then terminated.
