AROWHENUA TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the above hoard was held last evening. Present Messrs E. Lee (chairman), A.Frew, E. Vallender, and J. Ash well. CORRESPONDENCE. _ Correspondence was read from A. E. G. Rhodes, stating that he had received a letter from the Treasury, Wellington, which he had handed to the Receiver of Land Revenue with the request that he would forward a report on the hoard’s claim to of land sold, etc. The Receiver of Land Revenue had promised to give particulars to any amount paid to the board. —To be acknowledged with thanks. From the Temuka Town Board stating that chat body had obtained judgment in respect of the refund for illegal registration of dogs, and asking that the same he remitted at an early date. From Mr G. Philips, applying for repairs to the bridge leading to the cemetery cottage, and offering to do the work if the board found material. —The overseer to arrange. J the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board requesting payment of balance of contribution to Hospital and Charitable Aid.—Passed for payment. DOG REGISTRATION. In the matter of the claim for refund of fees received for illegal registration of dogs, the clerk was instructed to write to the Temuka Town Board to the effect that they (the latter body) were apparently under a misconception. In the recent action judgdmeut was entered up against Mr Gaze as a private individual for illegal registration of one dog. As the agreement between the several bodies interested was made in June, and the dogs complained of were registered in April the board could not see its way to do anything further in the matter. RESERVES. There being several occupiers of reserves whose rents were still unpaid the clerk was instructed to notify to them that they would require to pay same prior to the removal of crops, overseer's report. The overseer was authorised to in- : vite tenders for cleaning the creek. He reported that the nuisances complained of hitherto had been removed. ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £l3 15s 5d were passed for payment. The meeting then terminated. <
