A lad named Herbert Goldie, nephew of Mr D. Goldie, fell from a horizontal bar at Auckland and received injuries which resulted in death.
The Evangelist, Mr Henry Yarley, at present in Australia, has accepted an invitation to hold a series of meetings in Auckland during March. A ghostly relic in the shape of the complete skin and finger nails of the hands of an adult human being was found in the harbor, Auckland, and brought to shore. There is no clue by which the remains can be identified. An elderly man, named William Braddon, was drowned in the Hokitika river near the bar. He had been missing the last two days. He went fishing, _ and it is supposed that he slipped into deep water. Mr Joseph May, an old colonist, formerly one of the most experienced farmers and stock raisers in the Auckland, district died yesterday. Gold is said to have been discovered on native land at A wakino.
The Canterbury Saleyards Company (Christchurch) have paid a dividend of II per cent, for the year.
