WESLEYAN CONFERENCE.
The Wesleyan Conference on Tuesday dealt with the jubilee proposals. It was unanimously resolved to inaugurate a jubilee movement which should be conditional in its character, the funds to be administered by a c mtral committee. The amount mentione i to be raised by the movement was £15,000, the effort to extend over three years. The objects aimed at by the fund are a special branch of the home mission fund for purely aggressive work, a special branch of the loan fund for relief of embarrassed trusts and the purchase of sites, and the increase of the loan fund capital to £IO,OOO, The report on the church property showed the total income for the year to be £15,128, and the expenditure £16,968 net. The reduction of the debt during the year is £1592. The loan fund report showed that since its inception a total amount of £11,860 had been loaned. The local contributions to meet this had been at least £16,000 [sic]. The children’s fund income was £l7lO, and the expenditure £1729. The levy is to remain as last year. The question of the test of Church membership was discussed. It was unanimously resolved that members of the Australasian Methodise Church have their names enrolled in class books, and are are strongly advised to meet in class.
