THE LABOR REVOLT.
London, Dec, 5 . The gas stokers, who threaten to go out on strike, explain that their action is prompted by the belief that the bonus system to which they are opposed will have the effect of destroying their union, as those who agreed to it are compelled by their agreement to serve for a year. Dec. 7.
Owing to the recent strike of London dockmen there bas been great diversion of trade from the London decks.
The carmen have decided to join the Labor Union, which has resolved to boycott all who are not .members of the union. It has also been decided to eventually seek to compel the police and soldiers to establish a union. The coal porters express sympathy with the gas employes on strike, and intend to prevent coal being imported into London while the difference remains unsettled, Both at Manchester and Salford the strike of gasmen has occasioned great annoyance. Dec. 8. The Dockers’ Union protest against the tyranny of the Post Office in forbidding carmen to join the union, and have therefore decided to boycot the nonunion men.
