The Departmental Committee on the question of the investment of trust funds in colonial securities will re-assemble on the 10th instant, when the Bill dealing with the subject will be considered. It is expected that the Bill, which is already drafted, will meet with the approval of the Chancellor of (he Exchequer. The provision with reference to dividends is identical with the provision contained in the Bill prepared last year by Sir Francis Dillon Bell. "THTTBTII farther provides that legal procedure in respect to operating in colonial stocks shall be the same as that prescribed in dealing with Imperial stocks. Oscar Dickenson an influential Gothenberg merchant, offers to defray the expenses of an expedition to the North Pole. He proposes that the ex. pedition should be under the leadership of Dr Frithjof Nansen, who returned to Europe from a journey across the inland ice of Greenland from east to west, in June last. The owners of the steamer Glenooe, which came into collision with the barque Largo Bay in the English Channel on the 4th February last, appealed against the decision of Jnstice Sir Charles Butt of the Admiralty Division, that the col. lision was due to carelessness on the part of the officers of the Glencoe, The appeal was heard yesterday and was dismissed. Emin Bey met with a serious accident at Bagamayo. Being near-sighted he did not observe that a window in the room was open, and he walked through it, He fell a considerable distance to the ground, and fractured his skull. It is feared that the accident will result fatally, though Stanley’s doctor hopes to be able to save bis life. It is expected that the patient if he survives will have to remain quietly in his present quarters for at least ten days. Dec. 7. Stanley has arrived here. Ho says that E}min Boy mistook the parapet and fell a distance of twenty feet, receiving internal injuries. The lost information reports him to be slightly better.

New York, Dec. 6. The death is announced of Jefferson Davis, at Beauvoir, Mississippi. Washington, Dec. 5. Mr William Wisdom, secretary to the Treasury, proposes to repeal that portion of the Bland Act under which the coinage of silver is restricted to not less than two million dollars monthly.
