LECTURE AT GERALDINE.
Mr R. Morrison delivered an exceedingly interesting lecture in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Geraldine, on Monday evening last on “The Two Comings of the Lord Jesus Christ in their relation to the World and the Church.” There was a fair attendance. The lecturer traced the dealings of God with the Iraelites from the time of Abraham to the coming of Christ, and the setting up of the Cross under the heading of “ The Past.” He next referred to the work being done by the Holy Ghost in the world from its descent, in forming the Church of Christ. This work, which he classed under the heading of “ Present,” he stated would continue till the first resurrection, when those who had been made members of Christ’s Church, whether dead or alive, would be taken away. The abomination of desolation as referred to by Daniel would then ensue, when for a period of seven years there would be great tribulation. When wickedness was at its height Christ would descend with a sword and sweep men away, and then the millennium would commence, Satan being bound for a thousand years. Hollowing this would come a short period during which Satan would be loosed for a season, and ultimately the great white throne would be set up, and time and dispensations give place to the eternal ages. The latter part of the lecture was dealt with under the beading of “ Future.” Mr Morrison read and quoted Scripture in proof ef each assertion made. At the back of the platform he also had a large chart suspended, by means of which also the audience were able to grasp fully and to retain clearly in their minds the facts the lecturer sought to place before them. Those present enjoyed a treat, and were thoroughly interested during 1 the whole of the hour and a half j occupied by Mr Morrison.
