THE LABOR DISPUTES.

London, Nov. 19. The employes in the spike and nail manufactories in Worcester and Stafford have gone out on strike for higher wages, Brewing firms at Burton-on-Trent have conceded the demand of the maltsters, and the latter have resumed work. The General Steam Navigation Company and the London and Coastwise Shipping Company threaten an early suspension of the coastal trade, owing to the action of the dock laborers. Tillet, chairman of the Laborers' Union, is organising the Hamburg dock laborers, and inviting them to work with the London Union. A Congress of Trades Anions throughout Great Britain will meet in January next, to elect a Federal Council. Ihe refusal of a dozen clerks and foremen at Tilbury docks to join,the Union, as it was contrary to their agreement with the Company, is causing a strike of 1600 dockmen. In order to prevent outsiders coming to work in the Union the dock laborers have decided to close the union entrance lists at an early date, Mr John Burns, leader of the dockers' strike, suggests that the Burplus fuaJg should be invested in the names of Messrs Sydney Buxton, M.P., Spencer Cbarrington, M.P., himself, and two others tor the benefit of the dockers. '. , Nov. 20. ; Stevedores, lightermen, firemen, and seamen are indignant at Burns suggesting that the surplus of the fund should be invested for the benefit of the dockers. The Tilbury dock laborers have resumed work, pending a settlement of the dispute as to the rate of wages.
