Wellington, Dec. 21. Captain Russell leaves on Sunday for Dunedin, to be present at the opening of the exhibition. It is feared that the Premier will not be able to be present on account of illhealth. Dtjnedin, Nov. 21. The Mararoa left Melbourne on Wednesday with 206 passengers for the Exhibition opening. Messrs Day and Dix, representing British exhibitors, are of wpinion that the British Court will suffer unless the commissioners approve of the representations made to the executive. They state that a misunderstanding with the AgentGeneral as to the price to be charged for space, and the fact that the Exhibition is not being run by the Government, caused doubt as to the bona fides. This accounts for the limited applications. At a meeting of the Exhibition Commissioners to-day Mr J. G. Kinsay, of (Jhriatchurch, was appointed a commissioner. It was reported that 2000 seaaon tickets had been sold, realising £2242. Exclusive of the choir 1164 seats have been taken for the opening ceremony, besides 209 reserved.

At a meeting of delegates of friendly and trade societies arrangements were made in connection with tho opening ceremony at the Exhibition. The tramways will not run for an hour, in order not to interfere. From 1500 to 5000 men (exclusive of voluot»ers) will take part in (she procession. After diecussing the matter of a pn'za tor tho beat trade display, it was decided that no pv'zn should be efferad, the trade representatives being unanimous on this pohit.
