THE CRONIN MURDER.

Chicago, Not. 1.

At the Cronin murder trial Gillette, a Winnipeg convict, gave evidence to the effect that Burke had confessed to him that he, Goughian, Coney, and O’Sullivan, had decoyed Dr Cronin into a cottage, and clubbed him the moment he entered. The body, he said, was thrown into Lake Michigan, and afterwards taken out and concealed in a street sewer. An ex-convict, who was examined, swore that two years ago Detective Coughlin tried to hire him to kill Cronin. The trial is not yet concluded.
