DUNEDIN STOCK MARKET.
At the Burnside Yards on Wednesday the following business was transacted;— , Fat Cattle—Only 121 head yarned, and fer quality no more than half could be called good beef, the rest Ijttle better than Competition was active, and very satisfactory prices realised tor the lot. Best bullocks brought £9 to £l2 15s; medium to good, £7 10s to £8 17s £5 15s to £7; cows, £3 5s to £lO.
Pat Sheep —3093 were penned, with the usual proportion of merinos. The demand for prime crossbred wethers was fairly active, and last week’s prices were fairly maintained i for these ; but for all others, and especially ewes, there was less demand. Best crossbred wethers brought 15s to 17s 6d; ordinary to good, 12s 6d to 14s 9d; best crossbred ewes, 12s to 13s 9d; ordinary, 8s 6d to 11s 6d; best merino wethers, 12s to 14s; inferior to medium, 6s 3d tp 8s 6d. Reid, Maclean, and Co., sold for Mr J, D. Adams (Timaru), 1,7 shorn [ewes (first of the season), at 7s 3d. i
, Lambs—27o were penned, which had only a moderate demand, prices ranging from 6s 6d to 13s 3d. Pigs—26o were penned, representing all sorts, and for which competition iwas very active. Suckers brought Ss 6d to 14s 6d ; porkers, 26s to 32s ; baconers, 41s to 525, some extra heavy weights to 625.
