Eastern news by steamer states that during a severe tbundersiorm in Pekjio the Altar of Heaven, the most important religifius structure in China, caught fire, and the flames were riot" pubduod when the,mail left.
A strike of sixty thousand junkmen, has occurred at Skekmun, ond trade irf at a standstill. Fifteen .battalions Were sent there to maintain order.
Oct. 10.
News from China reports that the strike of junk sailors has been amicably settled.
