Accident. —As Mr G. Gregory, of Temuka, and another were driving through Geraldine on Sunday afternoon, two horsemen coming suddenly up behind caused the horse to shy when right opposite the Salvation Army Barracks, and a five-year-old daughter of Mr J. Dean, who was unable to get out. of the way in time, was knocked down and run over, the wheel passing over the left leg. Dr Fish was soon in attendance and foupd that fortunately the bone had not been broken, although the flesh and muscles wore considerably bruised and strained, Under the circumstances it was rather miraculous that the leg was not broken. Mr Maslin’s auction room in the vicinity was also considerably damaged.
