RIFLE SHOOTING.

GERALDINE RIFLES V. CIVILIANS,

A return match between the above took place at the Geraldine range on Thursday last. The conditions were the same as on the last occasion, namely, ten men a side, 200, 400, and 500 yards, five shots at each range, Wimbledon targets and scoring. The weather was perfect for shooting. The range, however, runs due east and west, and by the time the 500 yards range was reached the setting sun was shining right into the faces of the marksmen. The shooting on both sides was poorer than on the last occasion, and the volunteers again won by 91 points, being 10 points more than at the last competition, Two of the best shots on the civilian side, however, were absent, and an average had to be taken for them. The following are the scores OERALOINE RIFLES.
