GERALDINE FLAT AND ORARIWAIHI RACES.
Mr F. W. Stubbs, Clerk to the Qeialdine County Council, took the poll of the ratepayers in the Geraldine Flat District on Tuesday last, at the house of MrJLi McKenzie, on the proposal of the GounSil to borrow the sum of £9OO for irrigation purposes in the district. Yesterday he took the poll of the ratepayers in the Orari-Waihi district, on the Council’s proposal to borrow the sum of £I6OO for similar works in that district. The result of the polling should prove highly satisfactory to the ratepayers in both districts, the pelling being decidedly in favor of both races being constructed. The follow* ing are the results:—

Of the 7 votes not recorded at the latter place 4 were held by one ratepayer whi has left the district, and of the remaining three some were held by persona unable to vote through illness.
