IRISH AFFAIRS.
London, August 14. It is understood that the Government will resume, possession of the land in ( western Ireland, regulate the population, and consolidate and resell the holdings. The eastern districts will not be resumed except in special instances. Land banks will be established with an Imperial guarantee. August 15, The announcement of the Government’s now departure in Ireland was published at Birmingham on Mr Chamberlain’s authority.
