The Colonial Sugar Company have lowered the price of their sugars of all grades by £B per ton. Mr T. W. Belton has been appointed workshops’ foreman at Addington. He was formerly in the Groat Western railway workshops at Swindon. Nelson, the master of the ketch Aparima, while setting the mainsail of his vessel in Pigeon Bay on Saturday, was knocked overboard by the boom and drowned, his mates being unable to help him. He was a native of Riverton. The Otago School Commissioners are sending a letter to tho Minister of Lands defending their administration, and pointing out that in all cases where possible they have afforded relief to tenants.
