The Belfast Freezing Works, North I Canterbury, were opened on Thursday for the first time since the fire. Mrs Heintz, of Petone, Wellington, who was knocked down by a runaway horse a few days ago, died #n Thursday. A man named Kobert Davidson found a dynamite cap at Nelson, and being ignorant of what it was proceeded to make a careful examination with a needle. The following explosion surprised him, and 'also blew x away the top of one thumb and ' finger. He was taken to the hospital, where an operation was performed, the first joint of the finger and thumb being removed.
