GERALDINE HORTICULTURAL AND FLORAL SOCIETY.
The annual general meeting of the 1 , members of this society was held in the library of the Geraldine Literary Institute on Thursday evening last. There was a good attendance. Mr JP Williams vice president, occupied the 4 chair. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CHANCE OF NAME. ■ ... : i In accordance with notice given- at the last committee meeting,:: the' secretary moved, “ That the name:- p£. f the society be altered to ‘The* Geraldine Floral, Horticultural, and: Industrial Society.’” Mr A. White’ seconded the motion, which,. after a short discussion, was carried., , 0 ,, ‘ the eules. ' . ..‘ Mr G. H. Patrick moved the amende ’ ing of some of the society’s; rules in accordance with a notice standing, in;{ his name. The rules were thengono;. through seriatim, and a number bf > important alteration* made in them/;' ’ ’■ ELECTIOIT OF OFFICERS. / ’ The election of officers for the * ensuing year resulted as follows trrr[ President, Dr. Fish; vice-presidents,: Messrs J. Williams, A. White, and. i B. R. Macdonald; secretary, Mr-A. l ’ Fisher; treasurer, Mr J, W. Pye; committee, Messrs J. Pye, E. Fergusson, J. Eay, S. Chapman, 1 Harrison, H, Baughen, A. Coles, v bO Coombs, 0. Ramble, J. Mundell, R. H. Pearpoint, T. Bowkett, and N. Dunlop. EEPOET, AND, BALANCE-SHEET. , ( , The secretary’s report and baiaricb| sheet for the past,year was read and adopted. . , ;n ; ,j A vote tf;thanks to the past officers ') of the society terminated the meeting. ; MEETING OF COMMITTEE. ■ 7! A meeting of the newly-elected committee was then held, when Mr J. Williams ! was unanimously elected chairman of the same. The secretary was instructed to obtain and distribute collecting books for the use of the; committee. It was decided to hold the next meeting on Friday, September ’ 6tb. A sub-committee was appointed to obtain a suitable room for holding the meetings in in future. : { The committee then adjourned.
