GERALDINE HORTICULTURAL AND FLORAL SOCIETY.

The annual general meeting of the 1 , members of this society was held in the library of the Geraldine Literary Institute on Thursday evening last. There was a good attendance. Mr JP Williams vice president, occupied the 4 chair. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CHANCE OF NAME. ■ ... : i In accordance with notice given- at the last committee meeting,:: the' secretary moved, “ That the name:- p£. f the society be altered to ‘The* Geraldine Floral, Horticultural, and: Industrial Society.’” Mr A. Patrick moved the amende ’ ing of some of the society’s; rules in accordance with a notice standing, in;{ his name. A meeting of the newly-elected committee was then held, when Mr J. Williams ! was unanimously elected chairman of the same. The secretary was instructed to obtain and distribute collecting books for the use of the; committee. It was decided to hold the next meeting on Friday, September ’ 6tb. A sub-committee was appointed to obtain a suitable room for holding the meetings in in future. : { The committee then adjourned.
