Hannen, the President, remarked, "We Can do without their assistance, and Mr Parnull has no right'to dictate conditions! to the court." Sir H. James, one of defendants' counsel, is continuing the i crossexamination o£ Q'Kelly, . He admitted thaV he was intimate with Miller, Devby, »nd Harris, three! of the Irish revolutionary party, in America. He al8d : stated that he arrauged tor the defence of any prisoner he thought proper. Sir H, James will conolude thejerossexsmination of Mr Parnell to-day. July 17. The Times states that: Mr Healey ad dressed f a meeting of the National League in Dublin nt which he I defied andi insulted the Commission. The Times asserts that the (Patriotic Union had f nothing to do with F< Parnellism and Crime," as was alleged by the Irish party. The Standard considers Mr Parnell's withdrawal from the Commission a piece of thin melodramatic posing; The public will regard id as an angry admission of the futility of his efforts'to exculpate himself. In consequence'of his cross-examina-tion (which was postponed for the production of certain document*) not being completed," Mr ParneU's attendance before the' Commission has been made compulsory.
