AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Sydney, May 7. New Zealand wheat is rather easier, Tuscan 4s 9d. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, May 4. Tallow—Medium beef, 235. Leather has advanced ?dThe total quantity of wool catalogued for the series just closed was 312,800 bales. Of this quantity 182,000 bales were sold for export, and 4600 bales are held over for the next series. Cargoes of New Zealand wheat on the passage were sold at an average of 355. Eorward business is steady; foreign arrivals moderate ; no cargoes off coast or at ports of call. The English wheat market is steady; Continental market dull; American market unchanged. New Zealand hemp is quoted at from .£36 15s to £37. May 5. 1 The wool sales, for April and May series, closed yesterday very firm. An advance generally of a half-penny to a penny was made above the closing rates for Eebruary sales. Trade is healthy and the advance will probably be maintained. May 6. A cargo of Australian wheat sold at 34s 6d. A cable message from London received by a private Melbourne firm states that cotton goods have advanced 5 per cent and that woollen goods have advanced 10 per cent. j
