DUMEDIN PRODUCE MAEKETB. The following is the report for the week ending Wednesday:— Wheat—The market continues void of animation, and transactions during the week have been unimportant, as millers are indisposed to do business at sellers' quotations. The latter are strong in preference to accepting a reduction. Whole fowls' wheat has a fair demand, and for this description full rates could be obtained. Quotations are: Por prime milling, red straw, velvet, and tuscan, 4s to 4s 3d ; medium to good, 3s 6d to 3s 9d; inferior to medium, 2s 9d to 3s 3d (ex store), but very few buyers. Oats—Deliveries are now assuming large dimensions, and, so many growers being anxious for immediate sale rather than incur storage, the tone of the market is much weaker. QuotaJ tions are : For prime milling, bright and full, 2s 6|d to 2s 7d; best short feed, 2s 5d to 2s 6d; medium, 2s 4d to 2s sd; danish, poor demand, 2s Id to 2 s 4d (ex store). Barley has only a very moderate demand. Quotations are: For prime malting, 3a 7d to 3s 9d; medium, 3s 3d to 3s 6d (ex store). G-raßs Seed—Present quotations are: For undressed, 2s Od to 3s; dressed, 3s Gd to 4s. Cocksfoot has very little inquiry; quotations, 2id to 3|-d. Potatoes—The market continues steady at about late rates—viz., £4 to £4 2s 6d. Pigs—Well-fed, up to 1801 b, 3£d to 4id; hams, 9d; rolls, 6|d; flitches, 6£d. Onions, £l3. Chaff: Heavy oaten sheaf, £4; straw, £2. Turnips, 15s to 20s; carrots, 35s to 40s. Straw, oaten and wheaten, 40s; hay, oaten, clover ryegrass, 60s to 655. Butter—Prime salt, lOd (kegs extra); fresh, plentiful. Eggs are scarce. Honey, 4|d to 4|d for extracted. Cheese—Akaroa, sd; loaves,

s|d. Factory, sk& ; loaves, 6|d. Tallow—" Prime, rendered, mutton, 20s to 21s; medium to good, 17s 6dto 19s ', inferior and mixed, lis to 16s 6d. Eough fat: Best mutton caul, 13s 6d to 14s 6d ; medium to good, 10s to 13s per cwt. Sheepskins—On Monday, there was a rise of fully 3d to 4d in the price of skins. Butchers' crossbreds, prime quality and fit for mat-making, made Is 4d to 3s 9d; medium to good, 3s 7d to 2s lOd; small pelts and shortwoolled, 2s 8d to 2s 3d; green merinos, Is 9d to 2s 3d. Green lambskins were in good supply. Best quality made 3s 8d to 3s 4d; medium, 3s 3d to 3s; inferior, 2s lOd to 2s 3d; country dry crossbreds, inferior to medium, Is 6d to 3s 8d; do do merino, Is 5d to 3s 6d; full-woolled crossbreds, 3s lid to 6s 3d; do do merino, 3s 9d to 5s 7d; dry pelts, 4d to Is 3d. Hides—The market continu.es firm, and late rates well maintained. Quotations are: For inferior and bulls', l|d to 2d; light, 2£d to 2f d; medium, 2f dto ;in prime conditicn and over 601 b, 3|d per lb.

DUiOEDIN BTOOK MARKET. At the Burnside Yards on Wednesday the following business was transacted : Fat Cattle—Only 147 head yarded. Quality compared favorably with the entries of the past few weeks, but there was little or no improvement in the prices realised. Best bullocks brought £7 5s to £8 15s; light weight and medium to good quality, £4 5s to £6 17s 6d ; cows, from £3 to £6 7s 6d. ', —Wright, Stephenson and Co. sold for Mr James Guild (Trevenna), 6 prime bullocks at from £7 15s to £8 15s; for Mr Andrew Grant (Willow Bank), 6 bullocks at from £7 5s to £7 15s. John Grindley (on behalf of Mr Jas. Guild) sold 6 prime bullocks at from £8 to £9, averaging £8 6s. Fat Sheep—l93l were penned—only a couple of pens merino wethers; all the rest crossbreds, principally ewes, with a slightly larger number of wethers than usually to hand. Best rose Is per head and ordinary maintained late rates. Best crossbred wethers brought 14s to 15s 6d; ordinary, 10s 6d to 13s 6d; best crossbred ewes, lis to 13s 3d; ordinary, 7s 6d to 10s 6d; merino wethers 7s. Pat Lambs—sßß were penned. Competition was fairly active for best I sorts, but inferior had less demand. The former brought 7s 6d to 9s 6d; the latter from 5s to 7s. Pigs—394 were penned, prices all round were rather lower. Suckers brought 5s 6d to 9s 6d; light stores, 15s 6d to to 18s; heavier do, 2ls to 265; porkers 27s 6d to 33s ; baconers, 38s to 545; a few extra heavy to 68s.

There have been extensive sales of New Zealand malting barley, to arrive, at 3a lOd. Peas, 4s 9d. Bran, Is B£d. Sugar, browns, £2110s; greyish whites, £26 ss; China whites, £27. Adelaide, May 1. The wheat market is firm. •■ Shippings lots, 5s Id; farmers' lots, 4s lid at Port Adelaide, 4s 9d at out ports. Hour, roller-made, £l2 ss; stonemade, £ll ss. Bran, lid to Is. Pollard, Is Id to is 2d. New Zealand oats, 4s 4d. Malting barley, 4s 3d to 4s 6d. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, April 30. New Zealand 4 per cent inscribed ! stock has advanced to 105 f. New Zealand prime mutton has advanced to 4fd. The Union &.S. Company of New Zealand shares are quoted at £l3 10s, being an advance of 10s on previous quotations. New Zealand Shipping Company's shares are quoted at £4 ss, being a decrease of 10s on the previous quotations. Shaw Saville and Albion Company's shares are quoted at £8 10s, being a decrease of 10s on the previous quotation. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the TJnited Kingdom is 1,856,000 quarters, and for the Continent 344,000 quarters. The English wheat market is firmer, and the Continental market steady. The American market is changing a little for the better. A cargo of wheat by tho barque Pitzoe, which arrived last week from Oamaru has been sold at 34s 6d. Wool is firm and in active demand. May 1. ! Bidding at the wool sales has slackened owing to the extensive quantities now offering.
