New York, April 30.

In connection with tbe ceremonies at the Washington cenlenary, a stately procession of three hundred war ships and merchantmen escorted General Harrison's steamer round New York and Brooklyn harbors, The display was intended to reproduce Washington's arrival after the first election in 78. aud was witnessed by 1,000,000 people, who displayed immense enthusiasm. The city was splendidly decorated, and the illuminations at night were on a grand scale. The ceremony to-day i 6 intended to reproduce the scene of Washington's inauguration to the Presidential office. There is to be a military reyiew in the city, and 60,000 regulars of the United States Army will march past General Harrison, who throughout the ceremonies occupies a central position.
