BOARD OF REVIEWERS.

At the E.M. Courthouse at Geraldine on Tuesday, Messrs W. Postlethwaite, J. H. Sutter, and E. G. Sterricker sat as a Board of Eeviewers for the Geraldine and Mount Peel Hidings, and Geraldine Town District, to hear and dispose of objections to the assessments made for purposes of property tax. The following were the objections made:—

J. Brown, 100 acres at Kakahu, reduced from £525 to £450.

Charles Bowker, reduced by agreement, from £l9B to £165. Thomas Bull, size of section reduced from 8 to 4 acres.

A. Kelman, Education Eeserve, Geraldine, from £2130 to £I7OO. David Shaw, two sections at Cooper's Creek, area 430 acres, from £2130 to £1382, and £7OO to £650. John Woulfe, 7 acres at Belfield, from £9B to £BS. Messrs Smith and Dennistoun, of Peel Forest, applied to have the area

of their run reduced. They had for the last ten years paid rent for 10,988 acres in the Mount Peel district, but upon the run being surveyed recently by Government for the purpose of cutting it up they were found to have but 8,200 acres, with about 300 acres in the G-eraldine district. Area reduced to 8,500 acres,

Mr A. McLean's and Mr Allan Macdonald's objections were not allowed.

A number of other ratepayers had forwarded notices of appeal but did not appear in support of them, and the cases were struck out.

The Board then adjourned
