FIRE AT INVERCARGILL.
Invercargill, April 26, The extensive premises of Fleming and Gilkison, flour millers, caught fire at 11.20 a.m. to day. The buildings were part brick and part wood, and the flames started in the upper storey of the wooden portion. The brigade was soon on the spot and eventually had five jets playing on the fire, but the strong wind blowing to some extent neutralised its efforts. The wooden section of tbe establishment is now mostly demolished, but it is believed that tbe brick store and contents will be saved. Insurance on flour mill, £SOO in New Zealand (£250 reinsured in Phoenix), and £SOO in New Zealand (reinsured £250 in North German), £SOO in Equitable; wheat and oats in store, £IOOO in New Zealand (reinsured £SOO in North German) and £IOOO in Royal. The damage is estimated at £3OOO,
