Wilcox's lard refinery, elevators, warehouse, etc., extending for half a mile on the river front, wjre destroyed by fire. This is 'he largest fire which has visited New York f<r years. The loss is estimated at 3,000,)00 dollars. April 22.

A disastrous fire broke out at 5.30 this evening in the Bijou 'lheatre, which, along with tho Palace Hdel adjoining, was destroyed. The fire vas still burning at 10 o'clock, but was inder control. The scarcity of water was severely felt, and the Brigades were rendired helpless. Three firemen were killed by a falling wall and three others were seriously injured. It is believed that the damage will.exceed £BO,OOO, but owing to'the holiday no accurate information can be obtained.
