DISTRIBUTION OF JUBILEE TESTAMENTS.
TO THB EDITOR.
Sir,—l did not write to too with the object of obtaining an explanation from Mr Hamilton or anyone, but tn assign a reason for my absence from Waitohi on Tuesday week last, and as the letter you publish seems to yiliote that reason let me, bearing in mind this is not a subject of general interest, say briefly that I never received intimation by letter or otherwise that arrangements had been made for the distribution of Testaments on a particular day, and was left to infer that any day we might go op, and as JBiaster week was a busy one with one of us the following week might be preferable, I am not aware that any “ unpleasantness ” has occurred. lam prepared to suppose with Mr Fraser the matter “an unintentional misunderstanding,” and I hope that will both excuse my absence and dereliction of doty and others failing to give fuller and more explicit information.—Yours, etc,, John Dioksoit.
