ARRIVAL OF THE GOVERNOR.
AucKANB, April 21.
The steamer Mariposa arrived from Sydney at 7 o’clock this evening. Lord and Lady Onslow were passengers, and as there are no servants at Government House, they are staying at the Grand Hotel. The Governor will be formally welcomed by the citizens of Auckland to-morrow. He loaves for Wellington on Wednesday, and will probably go overland.
April 22.
The public reception of the Governor took place this morning. A great concourse of people assembled on th# Queen street wharf, and addreejes on behalf of the citizens of Auckland were presented by Mayor Devore, The Chief Paul, of Orakei, presented an address for the Maoris. One hundred of the Naval Arli'lery formed a guard of honor, Wellington, April 22. Arrived —Tekapo from Sydney. The family and servants of Lord Onslo w are passengers, ____________
