DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKETS.

The following is the report for the week ending Wednesdav: —

Wheat —During the latter portion of last week there was an inquiry for prime wheat, particularly tuscan, for shipping, and considerable business was done at satisfactory prices ; but since then the deman-i is easier, and prices are now not so firm. Millers are holding off in the hope of obtaining their supplies at lower p< ces shortly. During the past week 4., 6d (bags extra) was obtained for two lines of prime milling; but the top price to-day can only be quoted at 4s 3d to 4s 4d (bags extra); good, 3s 9d to 4s 2d ; medium, 3s 3d to 3b Gd.

Oats—Owing to the wet weather, supplies forward for the past week have been very small, and prices have hardened considerably. Any lots offered just now can be placed for immediate delivery at from 2s 6rl to 2s 8d (bags extra) tor prime milling, and from 2s 4d to 2.j Gd for best feed oats.

Barley—Nominally, 3s 9d to 4s for prime malting; 3s to 3s Gd for medium.

Potatoes—There are full supplies forward, and are selling at £4 5s to £4 10s.

Dairy Produce—Prime factory cheese, Gi to 4H-.1; farmers', 5d to sfd, Butter is in fair demand, at lOd

for good dairy; separator, la 2d to Is 3d.

Pigs—Well-fed, up to 1801 b, 3£d to 4d; hams, in cloth, 9d; flitches and rolls, G-^d. Eggs plentiful, aud downward price. Honey, 4d to 4£d for extracted. " Chaff, prime heavy sheaf, riddled, £3 15s to £4. Carrots, £2 10s per ton. Straw, oaten and wheateD, £2, Hay, oaten, clover and ryegrass, £3 sa.

Grass Seeds—Eyegrass, in good demand, farmers', 2s 9d to 3s; machine-dressed, 3s 3d to 4s; cocksfool, 3d.

Sheepskins—On Tuesday, country dry crossbred, low to medium, brought Is 3d to 3s 4d ; do do merino, Is 2d to 3s 2d j full-woolled crossbred, 3s 3d to Ga; do do merino. 3s 4d to 4s lOd ; dry pelts, 2s to Is Id ; green crossbred pelts, 2s 9d to Is 8d ; do merino do, Is 5d to Is Gd; green lambskins. 2s lOd to Is lOd.

Hides—Quotations: For picked, GOlb and over, 3|d to weight, 2Jd to 3d; light,*2&d to 2|d; inferior and (dippy, Id to lid per lb. Tallow—Prime mutton, 19a to 21s ; medium to good, 16s 6d to 18s Od; inferior and mixed, 13s to 15a Gd. Sough Fat: Best caul, 12s Gd to 13s ; medium to good, 19s to 12s per cwt.

DUSEDIN STOCK MARKET,

At the Burnside Yards on Wednesday the following business was transacted :

Fat Cattle —197 yarded. The quality, although varied, was in some instances very prime, but prices all round ruled slightly in favor of buyers. —Eeid, Maclean :md Co. sold for Messrs M'Croveriu aud Hardy. 3 heifers at M 15s, 3 at £4 10*, 2"at £3 12s 6d. Wright, Stephenson and Co. sold on account of Mr James Guild (Trevenna), 6 prime bullocks at from £7 to £8 10s. Donald Stronach sold for Mr John Hedley (Seadown), bullocks from £5 17s Gd to £G 10s. The Farmers' /U't'ucy Company, Limited, sold for Mr James Guild (Trevenna), 6 prime bullocks at£B 12s Gd to £7 7s 6d, averaging £8 10s. Fat Sheep All classes were represented, from interior half fat ewes, which found buyers with a dragging sale at from 5s 6d (up to 10s 3d for the best lines), to the best wethers, ranging in values to lis 3d. The market was rather weak.

Fat Lambs well, maintained, anything like decent lines realising from 7s to 8s ; special lots to 8s Gd and 8s 9d; inferior, 5s 6d upwards.

Pigs—A fair number yarded, but prices fell slightly. About 4d per lb was realised for best bacon pigs,

Sydney, March 27

Californian wheat is quoted at 4s lOd to 5?. A shipment of 2000 tons is expected in June, of which 1500 tone have already been placed at 5s per bushel. Five hundred tons are now being offered at the same price, c.i.f., to arrive. The sample shown is a prime one. March 28. Potatoes, Circular Pleads, are firm at £G There is a temporary scarcity. New Zealand are at. £5 to £5 ss, and Warrambools at £4. Onions, £l2 10s. Maize, 3s 8d to 3s lOd. There is a good supply, with an active demand. Oats, inferior quality, 2s lOd ; feeding sorts, 3s Id to 3s 3d; milling sorts, 3s 5d io 3s Gd. Bran, the market is easier, at Is Id. Pollard is at Is 4d, and is scarce. Wheat, chick feed, 3s Gd ; milling sorts, 4s lOd to 5s 3d. Blue peas, 4s Gd. Butter, imported, separator-made, Is Id to Is 3d ; dairy made, lid to Is. Cheese, best New Zealand made, Gd to 7gd. The market is steady, with a good supply on hand. Locally made, 3d to 7d. Bacon, the market is bare of Eew Zealand cured, which has been sold at 9d to 9-H. Hams, dull at lOd to Is. Chaff, New Zealand cut, £O. Adelaide, March 28 Flour, the market is strong. Wheat, Shipping parcels at Port Adelaide are worth 4s lOd to 5« ; for farmers' lota, 4s 9d to 4s 101 ; at outports, 4s 7d to 4a Bd. Flour, roller-made, £ll 10s to £l2 10s; stone-made, £lO 15s to £ll 10s. Bran, Is 3d to Is 4d Pollard, Is 5d to Is Gd. New Zealand oats, 4s to 4s 3d; Cape sorts, 3s. English malting barley, 4s 3d to 5s 3d; Cape shipments, 3s to 3s Gd. Melbourne, March 27. Tho sugar market is strong, with an upward tendency. French table is sold at £33 10s. Oats, the market is weaker. Prime stout, 4s; Danish, 3s Bd. Barley is quiet. Peas, 4s 9d. Maize, 4s 6d to 4s Bd. March 28. Wheat which was sold down to 5s Gd has now recovered, and is quoted at 5s 7d, which price, however, is strongly speculative. The demand for oats is depressed. New Zealand sorts are quoted at from 3s lOd to 3s lOia.

ENGLISH MARKETS.

London, March 27. New Zealand prime mutton, 4fd. Wheat, firm; off coast cargoes of Australian, 37s to 37s.Gd. Australian flour, 29s Gd to 30s.
