PARNELL V. THE TIMES.
London, March 14. The Times, referring to the Special Commission, declares it awaits with perfect confidence the result of the impartial and thorough inquiry into the connection of Parnellism with crime. In the House of Commons this evening a Bill was introduced by Mr Parnell providing for the mitigation of the treatment of political prisoners. It was rejected by a majority of sixty-six, At a public meeting held in London for the purpose of protesting against the treatment of Irish political prisoners, a message was received from Mr Gladstones declaring that he would unflinchingly probe to the bottom the connection of the Government with the TimesParnell Commission, March 15, The Right Hon. John Morley proposes to arraign the proprietors of the Times for charges made by that paper against the Irish members.
