THE KAKAHU ROAD.
TO TUB EDITOR. Sir,—l see by this morning’s paper that you have been at the Hot Springs, and have made remarks about the Culverden coach. What if you were to ride in the Hilton coach and get stuck in the Temuka river up to your waist one of these mornings through the neglect of the five members to the Temuka Eoad Board? As you are a man that takes interest in the welfare of the district you should say something in the line of this crossing, for a few bags of shingle and a small drain would turn the river two chains from your city. As it is the carting season of the year I shall leave it to any man of any understanding if three horses can fetch twenty bags of grain across the said crossing. There were three gentlemen with me this morning, and they stated it was a disgrace to the members of the Beard to allow the river to work its course towards the town. I hope you will, write a few lines and insert the same in your valuable paper.—l am, etc., C. Lejlbt, Coachman, N Hilton, Beb. 23,1889,
