The following is the report for the week ending Tuesday: — Wheat—The tone of the market remains: unaltered, and considerable indisposition is still shown on the part of millers to make purchases, pending the arrival of the new crop. Yery prime Northern wheat could lie placed at about 3s 3d, but beyond this buyers will not operate. There is a moderate demand for inferior or fowls' feed; but both millers aod baker*, being fully supplied with flour there is not much gristing going on. Quotations for milling are simply nominal—for prime 3s 3d to 3s 6d ; medium, 2s 9d to 3s j inferior, 2s to 2s 6d (ex store). Oats are moving off slowly, but the demand is not by any means active. Some of the local millers are buying, but only to satisfy present requirements. 'J here are no orders from the Australian market. . Prime milling, bright, and stout, 2s 4d to2s 5d ; best feed, 2a 2d to 25.3 d; inferior to medium, Is ,9d to 2s (ex store). Barley—" With the exception of some sales of Cape from the North Island here is nothing passing. Quotations nominal. Byegras.s Seed—Some of the new seed is now on the market, and farmers' undressed held for 2s 9d to 3g, but these prices are not obtainable. Machine-dressed is offering at 3s 6d to 3s 9d. Cocksfoot (new seed) is offering in small lots, but very little business is beiug done. Quotations nominal. Potatoes—Prices this week are slightly lower. Fresh dug realise £4 5s to £5 5s per ton. pjg ß —Well fed, up to 1801 b, 4d to 4|d. Hams and Bacon—Hams, 9d; rolls and flitches, 6|d. Chaff—Heavy oaten sheaf, scarce at £4;' inferior and straw, no demand. Straw—Oaten and wheaten (hydraulic pressed in bale?, 40s, HayOaten, clover, and ryegrass (hydraulic pressed hi bales), 655. Butter—Prime salt, 8d net cash (casks extra); fresh do., scarce. Eggs—Very scarce. Honey—3£d to 4d for run; 4£d for extracted.
