TE KOOTI'S PROPOSED VISIT.
Gisboene, Feb. 18. There is intense feeling among the country settlers. A meeting will be held this morning when the express arrives. Three hundred armed settlers will he enrolled to prevent Te Kooti reaching the meeting place. The leading settlers are heading the movement. Te Kooti is expected on Tuesday, and it is feared that unless Government give absolute orders to Te Kooti not to come great trouble may arise. Wellington, February 18.
Information has been received that 40 natives under arms have arrived at Opotiki on their way to intercept Te Kooti. Instructions have been sent to tell them that they must not interfere. Te Kooti has not yet left Rotorua.
