GERALDINE LITERARY INSTITUTE.

A meeting of the committee of this institute was held in the library on Wednesday last. Present Messrs A. E. Hawkins (in the chair), H. W. Moore, F. Wilson Smith, and the treasurer. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION. The committee reported the result of the canvass for members at a reduced subscription and in view of the report it was decided that the encouragement given warranted the committee in reducing the subscriptions to 10s per annum. A resolution to the effect that such reduction be made was carried unanimously, the resolution to bo confirmed at the next meeting of the committee. EEPAIES TO BUILDING. Mr Hawkius reported that since the previous meeting the librarian’s rooms had been painted. ENTERTAINMENT. Mr Moore reported that he had communicated with the Rev. J. Hill re giving a lecture for the benefit of the Institute, Mr Hill would be willing to give a lecture in March next. His subject would be *' Spiritualism ”. It was decided to ask Mr Hill to deliver a lecture on Wednesday March 20th. The price of admission was fixed at Is. Messrs Hawkins, H, W. Moore, F, Wilson Smith and the treasurer were appointed a sub-committee t® the necessary arrangements. PETTY THEFTS. \ The librarian was instructed to report to the committee the name of any person removing papers from the table without sanction. The meeting then terminated.
