THE LATE CROWN PRINCE OF AUSTRIA.

Still another rumour is mentioned as to the cause of death of Prince Rudolph. It is said that he took a lady into his chateau, where he was followed by the enraged husband, who shot him dead. The funeral will take place on the sth, but no foreign Princes will attend. Febrnary 2, The official announcement of the death of the Crown Prince states that he had not been in good health for some time, and was suffering from nervous excitement, the result of a fall from his horse in November last. It is believed that he was temporarily insane, and was addicted to taking morphia. It is said that he induced his friends and servants to leave the chateau on various pretences before he committed suicide. The Crown Prince left letters addressed to the Emperor, Empress, and his wife, the Princess Stephanie, which were found in on Wednesday morning. From examination of the room it appears that Prince Rudolph had placed a toilet glass beside the bed in order that his aim to the right temple might be more direct, When the Prince of Coburg burst into the room he found lighted candles on both sides of the deceased Prince, which had just ignited his clothes, The London Times says that scandal hag produced discreditable intrigues and motives for the suicide, and adds that the Prince before leaving for Meyerling, had a violent and painful interview with his father the Emperor and his wife. The Archduke Charles has renounced his right to succeed Prince Rudolph in favor of tbe Archduke Ferdinand. It is understood that the Prince will be buried secretly. London, February 2. Owing to tbe painful rumors afloat concerning the death of his son, the Emperor Francis Joseph has allowed the details to be made public. It is reported that Prince Rudolph seduced a leading Princess of the Court, and the facts being told her brother, the latter offered Prince Rudolph the choice of fighting a duel or committing suicide. He chose the latter. Another report said that he fought the duel and was shot by his antagonist. The late Crown Prince, the second child of the Emperor Francis Joseph and the Empress Elizabeth, was born on August 21, ldsß, and married on May 10, 1881, the Princess Stephanie, second daughter of King Leopold the Second of Belgium. Their only child is a girl, who was born on September 2, 1883. Their married life was anything but a happy one.
