Zanzibar, January 17. The rebels have murdered eight German missionaries at Ruga, on the Pan. gani river, and recaptured a large number of freed slaves who were sheltering at the mission station. Suakim, January 17. The rebels continue to make night attacks on the town, A messenger arrived from Khartoum confirms the repotted capture of the Equatorial provinces and Emin Bey. London, January 18. Letters received from Stanley, dated August, confirm the news received in December of the capture of Emin Bey. Letters received from the Congo report that Tippo Tib has refused to ac. company the Stanley expedition on their return march to Emin Bey. January 20. In reply to inquiries, the Russian authorities deny approving of the Cossack mission to Abyssinia, although the regimental seals are on the baggage of the associates, and Achmoff, the leader, is in the Russian army. There are rumors as to a heavy attack on Suakim by the Mahdi, and that Dongola and Wady Haifa are also in danger, The Daily Chronicle publishes an interesting account, furnished by an eye witness, of the death of General Gordon, who, it is alleged, was killed after yielding his sword to the Mahdist general,
