The Government have determined to apply for 4000 feet of space only at the Paris Exhibition. Nearly the whole of 2000 volumes to form the lending branch of tho Auckland Free Library have arrived. Facilities for travelling will bo so far improved that the down trip from Rotorua Lake District to Auckland will now occupy less than thirteen hours. The Hobson Rifljs, (Auckland), have disbanded in consequenca of tho stringency of the new regulations, and other corps are expected to follow suit. In consequence of the immoderate con* sumption of water at Auckland, the supplies for garden hose are to be discontinued. One meter, which was affixed, showed water costing £l4 (amounting to 38,000 gallons) used by one consumer who paid 10s for the service.
GRATEFUL-COMFORTING. EPPS'S COCOA BREAKFAST. “ By a thorough knowledge of the natura laws which govern the operations of digestion and nutrition, and by a careful application of the fine properties of well-selected Cocoa, Mr Epps has provided our breakfast tables with a delicately-flavored beverage, which may save us many heavy doctor’s bills. It is by the judicious use of such articles of diet that a constitution may be gradually built up until strong enough to resist every tendency to disease. Hundreds of subtle maladies are floating around us ready to attack wherever there is a weak point. We may escape many a fatal shaft by keeping ourselves well fortified with pure blood and a properly nourished frame.”—See article in the Civil Service Gazette. Made simply with Boiling Water or Milk.
