SAMOAN AFFAIRS.

Berlin, January 8. The news that Germany had lost several men in the recent fight at Samoa created a painful sensation in the city. The Press, in referring to the difficulty in Samoa, expresses a hope that America will end her intrigues, and facilitate a settlement by admitting the great preponderance of German commercial interests in the islands. It also urges Prince Bismarck to make serious and energetic representations at Washington on the subject, January 9, The German officials accuse Mr Ilicklock, the United States Consul at Samoa, and Captain Leary, of the United States warship Adams, with instigating the recent rising in Samoa by supplying Mataafa with rifles. Prince Bfemarck has made a complaint to this effect to the' United States Government at Washington.
