AFRICAN TROUBLES.
London, January 1. A telegram from Stanley Pool, on the Congo, says that a number of letters from Stanley will reach England in March. A telegram conveying important news is expected at an earlier date. Suakim, January^!Sir F. W. Grenfell has entered Han donb, and has published there a pro clamation announcing the defeat o Osman Digna, Many tribes have assured. the General of their loyalty to the British, The rebels are reported to be abducting women. January 2. Osman Digna has been reinforced from Tokur, and now has a thousand pen near Handoub with five guns, January 3. It is reported that Osman Digna wishes to surrender, and that he bad actually sent his harem towards Suakim when the dervishes interfered, and forcibly prevented him carrying out bis intentions.
