ANOTHER BRUTAL MURDER.

London, Deo. 24. Another woman of the unfortunate class has been murdered in a lonely yard in the neighbourhood of Poplar. The body wss not mutilated in the same way as was the recent Whiteohapel victims, but bears marks of fingers on the neck, leading to the supposi* tion that the murderer attempted to remove the rooal cord, but was disturbed in his work. By some it is believed that the murderer if identioal with the Whiteohapel murderer, but that he ! is pursuing a new method of killing and mutilating the viotims.

Oaptaiu Maroney committed Buioide at Maketu, Auckland, last week by shooting himself. Thomas Gloeson, on remand on a charge of burglary, esoaped from Dunedin gaol on Friday night by cutting one end of a bar of his cell with a knife. Ho had to climb a wall covered with broken bottlet, and was seaniily dressed. Four shops were broken into during the Bame night, all probably by Qleeson, who got £4 10s in money, and severt.l .changes of clothing. On Monday night at 11 o'clock Gleesonwas recaptured after a stout resistance, when he twice struok Detective Maddern on the head with a waddy. On him was found a bag containing a lot of clothing, provisions, a ehieel etc., evidently the prooeeds of burglaries, He expressed regret that he had not a revolver to shoot the deteotivo and a constable who assisted him. Hoiiowat'B 'Film are.Btrocgly recommended to all peraontt who are much redueed in power and condition, whoie stomachs ate weak, and whoso nerves are shattered. The benefioial effeoti of these Pills will be peroeptible after a few clays' trial, though a more extended course may be required to reestablish perfect health. HoUoway's medicine acts on tbe organs of digestion, and induces complete regularity in the stomach, liver, pancreas, and kidneys. This treatment is botn eafe and certain in result, and is thoroughly consistent with observation, experience, and oommon scnee. The purification of the blood, the removal of all noxious matter from the secretions, and the excitement of gentle action in the bowels, are the sources of the curative powers of Holloirsy's Pills.
